NEW Hoselink 20m Auto Rewind Hose Reel

Probably like you I have long known HOSELINK for their ‘burst-proof, leak-free’ hose connectors which have been on the market for several years. Seeing the HOSELINK team out at a recent garden expo I attended I could not help but be impressed with their increased product range and diversity. Automatic hose reels, nozzles, pressure sprayers, garden tools, there offering had sure expanded! Here I am looking at their new range of hose reels, in particular their new 20m Auto Rewind model.

Product

HOSELINK 20m Auto Rewind Hose Reel available at www.hoselink.com.au for $164.90

Out of the Box:

Here is a list of what is supplied with the new 20m HOSELINK Auto Rewind Hose Reel

  • 20m Hose
  • 2m Leader Hose (from tap to reel)
  • HOSELINK Hose Fittings pre-fitted
  • Metal 8-Function Spray Gun
  • Bracket and fasteners for masonry or timber
  • Stainless Steel Screws used throughout
  • Bonus Blaster and Swivel Connector
  • 2 Year Warranty

Construction

The hose reel itself seems streamlined and solid with a convenient handle for lifting on and off the mounting bracket for areas where leaving in situ is not appropriate. Mounting the bracket was also relatively painless with a drilling template, all the required hardware and clear instructions all included. This model also boasts stainless steel fixtures throughout, something that should prove beneficial during the test of time. I am also quite a fan of the reels neutral colour. Apart from the shallow fact that it matched our external wall, it also likely to not show the plastic whitening which is typical of darker plastics due to sun exposure.

Performance

Neutral tones less likely to fade in the sun, or in fashion.

I have been using my reel which I mounted to my rear deck with no problems for the last several weeks. The reel extends, locks-off and then retracts well and the fittings are as you would expect – watertight and without issue. Even the supplied 8-function hose gun (something I notoriously hate) has been good with shower (for watering), jet (for cleaning) and mist (for my propagation) found the most useful. You also receive a bonus ‘Blaster’ and ‘Swivel Connecter’ which are also quite useful.

The Verdict

I very much like the new series of HOSELINK Auto-Rewind hoses. They seem both well built and priced reasonably at only $164.90 for the 20m model.

I have 2 reels brought for me both have trouble winding in the last 2 meters and orings always going missing and 1 gun fitting leaks when water left on, one reel has rust stains coming from the screw holes on the side and is staining the holder and the hose reduces pressure so much that i have to diconect the hose link hose and change to a noramal hose for spraying power

I have this same problem. It works fine until the last 2 metres for me as well.

I have found that it usually won’t retract the last 2 or 3 metres if there is a little pressure left in the hose. As soon as I squirt what water is left in the hose it retracts perfectly.
