24 Feb Husqvarna 536LiL

Last year I mentioned my desire to review the new generation of battery power equipment coming onto the Australian market for both consumer and professional use. Today the first of these items arrived for testing from Husqvarna Australia. The Husqvarna 536LiL is a professionally-orientated 36V battery powered line trimmer which I am very much looking forward to putting through its paces and giving you my thoughts as both a home-owner and someone who has used equipment such as this professionally in the field. Stay tuned for a full review. If you have an item of battery outdoor power equipment you'd like to hear our thoughts on let us know in the comments below.

21 Jul REVIEW – Bosch Rotak 37 LI (Battery Lawnmower)

This review was always going to interesting for me as I have always owned commercial lawn care equipment, predominantly in the form of 4-stroke self propelled lawnmowers. Being accustomed to the power, durability and reliability of these units I was not sure what a plastic, battery-powered mower would offer. I was most surprised. 06 Nov REVIEW: Amgrow Organix Weed Blitz 1L ready to use

Those of you pining  for a registered organic weed control spray for the home market are in luck with this latest offering from the people at Amgrow.

Product

Amgrow Organix Weed Blitz 1L ready to use - $14.95.

Description

The active ingredient of this herbicide is pine oil, extracted from both Australian and New Zealand pine. It works by stripping the coating from leaves, stems and even seeds to which it is applied,  causing the collapse of the cells and thus the plant itself. It is wholly plant-derived and certified organic. If you understand it's action you can now understand why it would not be the best solution to bulbous or woody perennial weeds which would burn-off then most-likely recover. It does, however, work an absolute treat in killing juvenile perennial as well as most annual weeds.
