05 May World Naked Gardening Day

It was a cool day in Sydney for the 10th annual World Naked Gardening Day (WNGD) and thus one not conducive to me personally getting my gear off and into the garden to take part! For those not familiar with the event, the first Saturday of May is WNGD where (according to their website) people are encouraged "to tend their portion of the world's garden unclothed as nature intended".

For those looking for the perfect Anzac Day long-weekend gardening activity why not pick up a Gallipoli Rosemary plant for your place? The story goes that a wounded digger bought the original plant back with him that he had dug from the slopes of Anzac Cove in 1915 where it grows wild across the peninsula. This bush was planted within the grounds of the Army Hospital at Keswick, SA. It then provided countess sprigs over the years to honour those lost on Anzac and Armistice days.  Rosemary has long been associated with memory and thus used as an emblem of remembrance, especially with it's strong Gallipoli connection.
